AMC currently manages and provides leasing and marketing services for over 300 apartments and 26 condominium units, as well as for over 300,000 square feet of commercial (retail, restaurant, office, flex) in 35 buildings.
Mark Van Noppen is the President and Managing Principal of AMC. Mark began his career in real estate development in 1982, renovating significant Victorian homes in Providence, Rhode Island. He co-founded the award-winning The Armory Revival Company in 1986. In his role as Managing Principal, Mr. Van Noppen is responsible for strategic planning, project conception and management, property management, community relations, and business and investor development. Mark has had leadership roles on the boards of numerous civic and charitable organizations including West Broadway Neighborhood Association, Housing Works RI, the Rhode Island Builder’s Association, and the Providence Preservation Society, where he served as President from 2006-2008. He has served on a number of commissions and committees, including the Governor’s Joint Committee on the Rehabilitation Building Code, the Governor’s Housing Resource Commission, Mayor David M. Cicilline’s Advisory Committee, and Brown University’s Civic Leadership Council. A native of North Carolina, Mr. Van Noppen graduated from Brown University in 1981 with a degree in Anthropology. He also studied photography at Rhode Island School of Design. He resides in the Armory District with his wife Julie, and has three children.
Seth Zeren is a Principal, VP for Development, and a Licensed Real Estate Broker. Since joining AMC in 2016, Seth has strengthened Armory’s commercial leasing and new development pipeline. His deep experience in urban planning, design, and placemaking, spanning public and private sectors, promotes the creation of exceptional value in underutilized buildings and sites. Seth’s leasing and placemaking work has helped dozens of neighborhood entrepreneurs find a place to open their businesses, resulting in a 97% occupancy rate across AMC’s 300,000-square-foot commercial portfolio. Seth is an active member of the Congress for the New Urbanism, outgoing Chair of the Board of Directors for Nuestro Mundo Public Charter School, serves on the state Building Code Standards Committee, and is a founder of Neighbors Welcome RI. Seth has a Bachelor’s degree from Williams College and a Masters’ in Environmental Management from Yale University.
Edgar Garzon is a Principal and VP for Finance and leads our in-house financial team across property accounting, construction accounting, asset management, and financial planning. Edgar has over eight years of experience in real estate accounting and finance at multiple real estate companies. He brings a deep knowledge of accounting and financial management with a passion for great development projects and an eye always on the bottom line. In his spare time, he is a chess enthusiast and teaches personal finance. Edgar is an active member of the National Intercollegiate Soccer Official Association and the Rhode Island Soccer Officials Association. Edgar received a B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Finance from Rhode Island College.
Timothy Viveiros is a Principal and VP for Construction and leads the in-house construction team for self-perform and third-party projects. From working at his father’s electrical contracting company as a teenager, to project managing the high-rise 169 Canal St. in Providence, Tim Viveiros has seen it all and enjoys being a problem solver in construction and real estate operations. He manages a large network of subcontractors and leads contractor negotiations and client relationships. Tim supports property management and property operations for complex capital projects and is the in-house IT manager. Tim is a rugby and ski enthusiast and has a BA in Finance from Franklin Pierce University.
Susan Reis, Vice President of Property Management, brings over thirty years of experience in managing real estate to owners, tenants, and residents. Sue is an Accredited Residential Manager and a Registered Apartment Manager associated with IREM and accredited by the National Association of Home Builders.
The company employs its own maintenance and construction crews under the direction of Timothy Viveiros and Kara Zopfi (Property Manager), making sure that residents’ and businesses’ needs are met and exceeded, proactively ensuring that all Armory properties are kept up and that all apartments are ready for residents. Kara, who is also an Accredited Residential Manager associated with IREM, handles residential leasing and Seth oversees the commercial property portfolio, supported by Peter Van Noppen. The accounting department is strengthened by the knowledge and experience of Greg Mitchell (Accounts Payable) and Junior Tejada (Staff Accountant).
AMC has many long-standing relationships with sub-contractors that allows the company to mobilize plan and execute major improvements and tenant fit-out projects. AMC’s affiliation with The Armory Revival Company, Stepping Stone Partners, and RCG LLC inform AMC’s property disposition services, helping owners realize maximum economic, social, and environmental returns on their investments.
